Penwortham Retirement Living Scheme Gets The Green Light

Penwortham Retirement Living Scheme Gets The Green Light

South Ribble Borough Council has unanimously approved our latest Retirement Living design for McCarthy and Stone, Britain’s leading retirement house builder. The scheme will create a sustainable new build development in Penwortham, providing 51 self-contained apartments, car parking and professionally landscaped gardens.

The scheme will allow people of 60 years and over to live their retirement to the full in their own modern homes whilst providing the benefits of a thriving retirement community. At the centre of the development you will find a House Manager and Social Lounge ensuring residents enjoy security, peace of mind and companionship.

The development has been designed with specific requirements of later living at its heart, ensuring inclusive access, ease of movement, low maintenance and reduced dependence on private cars through encouraging use of public transport. The scheme also includes a charger room for pavement scooters and external charging points for electric / hybrid cars.

The scheme will create a safe and secure environment for homeowners to continue to lead active and independent lifestyles. Work is due to start in July 2018 with first occupation anticipated in the summer of 2019.
