We are so pleased to be involved with the fantastic charity Onside Youth Zones who aid the development of young people, giving them a safe, quality place to spend their leisure time. In the past month, our team in Manchester have literally gone above and beyond to support the charity.
Simon Green bravely took part in a sponsored sky dive, raising £784 for The Hive Wirral Youth Zone, a project we designed and delivered which supports the young people of Wirral. The purpose-built facility provides access to fantastic activities from sports to arts, music, drama and employability workshops.
Simon originally won the sky dive in a raffle organised by Vectos, our neighbours in the Manchester office. As well as offering him the opportunity to jump out of an aeroplane(!) Vectos kindly said they would match the funding raised for the charity.
Members of the team also spent a day volunteering at a junior session at The Hive last weekend. Simon, Steve, Owen and Lisa took part in a poppy art project for Armistice Day and volunteered to help youngsters on the climbing wall.
Based in an area with a higher than average level of poverty among young people, the centre provides a safe and inviting place for teenagers to enjoy. Along with our time volunteering, we hope Simon’s £784 fundraiser will help the team at The Hive to do even more to support local young people and set them on the right track for future success.
