We are delighted to announce that our design for a £10M multi-use development, a new 180 bed budget hotel with ground floor restaurant and retail provision and upper floor apartments in Oxford, has secured planning permission.

The scheme will provide high quality affordable accommodation in the heart of Oxford, which attracts around 7 million visitors per year. The site is located on Banbury Road in Summertown, a vibrant and popular suburb north of the city centre. The purpose built hotel will occupy the first, second and third floors of the building, with ground floor areas given to retail premises providing high quality public space in front of the building, adding to the vibrancy of the Banbury Road high street.

The building has been carefully designed to sit comfortably in its surroundings, with high quality materials and scale reflecting the existing buildings in the vicinity. It will improve the quality and appearance of Banbury Road by replacing the existing 1960’s garage and office block, increasing landscaping and providing green space.

The project has been developed with sustainability and energy efficiency in mind, and aims to achieve BREEAM Very Good.

Construction is planned to start in summer 2019.
