Thursday 29th March saw the latest Interact AGM luncheon in the East Midlands, with 150 national members and guests in attendance. Interact is a national networking organisation of property and construction professionals with over 450 members in 26 centres across the UK.

A drinks reception and 3 course dinner took place in celebration of the ‘Best of British’ with special guest speaker Steve Edge of Steve Edge Designs Ltd– a true British Character, Designer, Jockey, Fisherman and honorary eagle dancer of a North American Tribe. Steve spoke about his successful, colourful career and how dyslexia can help a business, drawing upon his own personal experience.

The event saw our Director, Simon Parker, officially appointed as the new National President of Interact for the next two years. He launched his presidency with the creation of a new ‘Interact Rising Star Award’ for young construction professionals, which aligns with Interact’s mission to encourage collaboration as well as giving something back to young people in the industry. Simon said:

“I am delighted to take on the role of National President of Interact, building on the fantastic work Interact does to forge strong relationships across the construction industry.

I’m looking forward to driving and promoting the organisation over the next two years to bring colleagues together and strengthen contacts between senior professionals.

The introduction of the new ‘Interact Rising Star Award’ will offer talented young people a platform to present themselves to senior professionals and will give something back to those beginning their career in the industry.”
